Terms of Service

1. Eligibility (18+)

SOULUV is an adults-only (18+) platform. You must be at least 18 years old to use it, and you confirm that you are each time you use the service. We verify age at sign-up and may remove any account we believe belongs to a minor.

2. Your account

You're responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. Provide accurate information, don't impersonate anyone, and don't share or sell your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Community rules & acceptable use

SOULUV is a support-first community. You agree not to post, send, or share:

• Sexually explicit content or nudity outside a circle specifically designated as adult (NSFW). Such content is permitted only inside NSFW circles, is age-restricted to opted-in adults, and never belongs in support circles, general comments, or unsolicited messages. Sexual solicitation of services is prohibited everywhere.
• Any sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualises minors - this is banned everywhere, no circle can permit it, and it results in an immediate ban and, where required, a report to the authorities.
• Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or content that targets or demeans people for who they are.
• Content that promotes or gives instructions for self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. (You are always welcome to talk about what you're feeling - we surface support resources rather than punish honesty.)
• Illegal content or activity, sale of regulated or dangerous goods, or facilitation of fraud or scams.
• Doxxing or sharing someone's private information, including calling out named exes or partners.
• Spam, MLM or "get rich quick" pitches, mass unsolicited messaging, or platform manipulation.
• Medical, legal, or financial advice presented as professional guidance, or diagnosing other members.

Each Circle also has its own rules. Anonymous posts are held to exactly the same standards.

4. Connect (matching & messaging)

Connect is opt-in and consent-first. Treat people with respect, take "no" as a complete answer, and never use SOULUV to coerce, exploit, or endanger anyone. Never arrange to meet someone in a way that puts your safety or theirs at risk. We may pause or remove Connect access for conduct that breaks these Terms.

5. Your content

You own the content you create. By posting, you grant SOULUV a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content within the serviceso we can operate SOULUV (for example, showing your post in a Circle or feed). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained for backups, legal, or safety reasons, and for anything others have already re-shared within the service.

6. Moderation & enforcement

All content passes through automated screening, and our team reviews reports and flagged material. When something breaks these Terms we may - depending on severity and history - hide or remove it, issue a warning, limit features, suspend, or permanently ban an account. Severe violations (such as content sexualising minors, or credible threats of violence) can result in an immediate ban without warning. You can report content or people from anywhere it appears in the app.

7. Subscriptions & payments

Some features are paid - such as Connect Premium and paid Circles. Prices are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel anytime; cancelling stops future renewals but doesn't retroactively refund the current period. Payments are handled by Paystack (web) and by Apple or Google (in-app purchases); their terms and refund rules also apply. Except where the law or an app store requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable.

8. Not professional advice

SOULUV is a peer-support community, not a medical, mental-health, legal, or financial service, and is not a substitute for professional care. Nothing here is diagnosis or treatment. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right away.

9. Disclaimers & liability

SOULUV is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We don't control what members say or do and aren't responsible for their content or conduct. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOULUV is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Termination

You can delete your account anytime from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you break these Terms or to protect the community. Sections that by their nature should survive (content licence, disclaimers, liability) continue after termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be handled by the competent courts there, unless your local law gives you rights that can't be waived.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes we'll notify you in the app or by email, and continued use after the change means you accept the updated Terms.
